This quote is from a song and it’s something I’ve been thinking a lot about lately. I don’t specialize in hand lettering but I find sometimes drawing out quotes or phrases really therapeutic. As artists we often try to find a way to express ourselves through our work and in that can find some sort of catharsis. By focusing on drawing out each word it helps really consider what the overall phrase is saying. This particular one means a lot to me in the context of when a relationship feels very one sided. Maybe it’s with friend, a partner or colleague. There’s that moment where you realize you are more invested than they are and you have to make a choice on how to go forward. You can’t control other people only yourself and your own actions. For my dear friend and incase anyone else needs to hear this right now - always remember that in all areas of life, you deserve to have someone who wants to be invested in you too. Your voice, your talents and the love you have to give matter.
