Hello Everyone! The time has finally arrived and the series is complete! What an incredible ride this has been. This series has been a lesson in patience, creativity and process discovery. Above all, I have most enjoyed learning about the different symbols that make up all of the provinces and territories in Canada. My appreciation … Continue reading From Sea to Sea

Hey Everyone, It's almost appropriate that I've reached the most Northern parts of Canada now that it's winter here. The Northwest Territories has one of my favorite birds as its official symbol so this piece was a real treat to work on. Learning about the different symbols of each province and territory has been so interesting and … Continue reading Land of the Midnight Sun

This piece included one of my favorite birds the Atlantic Puffin so it was … Continue reading Seek Ye First the Kingdom of God

It’s been a very busy May working on a bunch of projects in the works. Unfortunately, that also meant not having a lot of time to create art. A little sketchbook mixed media piece I did the other day. ☺️ The weather is finally turning around and the grass is getting greener. What do you like most about spring? Some days you wake up inspired to draw. Today I decided to create this piece of my dog @camaro_theshiba from a photo I took a few months ago. The light was perfect and the snow sprinkles on his face just made the whole scene feel magical. ❄️ Something about drawing and painting oranges makes me think of summer. 😊 I don’t know about you but I’m ready for warmer weather. 🍊☀️ Just a little skull in a sketchbook. 🙂💀 I wanted to explore using different colours on a coloured background to study value and shape. This sketchbook is roughly 8x8 and is the perfect size for me to do a decent sized exploration without feeling too overwhelmed by the size. Did you know that you are 42% more likely to reach a goal if you write it down? Today is International Women’s Day, and while much has been done over the years to fight for the equality of women, there are still places in the world where this is still not the case. I feel very fortunate as a woman living in Canada to have the rights and the freedoms that I do and I wish this gift for every woman on this planet. I teased a small portion of this image a little while ago and now I’m happy to share the full thing. Today’s #marchmeetthemaker prompt is three things. The three drawings in this post were all created with coloured pencil and a different medium.
