Fans of the Lightfast and INKTENSE colored pencils … Continue reading Derwent Inktense Paper Review

The new year has finally arrived and for many, it's a welcome sight. While the sheer fact that it's now 2021 isn't enough to mean the pandemic is over and we're going back to our "normal" lives, it, like every day that we are fortunate to be on this earth, is another chance to start … Continue reading It’s OK to Set Goals in 2021

Revisiting Your Art

December 30, 2020January 30, 20212 Comments

Yes, that's right, we call them pencil crayons here in Canada. It took me a while to … Continue reading Revisiting Your Art

For an artist taking commissions the prospect of a new project is always exciting. If this is a big part of your business it also, in a very practical sense, means more income to sustain your practice. You only need to look someone in their eyes to see what they are truly feeling. This diptych is about how things can seemingly be fine on the outside, but if you look deeper, you can see what’s going on underneath. I think everyone is putting on a brave face some of the time. Sometimes it’s for privacy, other times because they don’t know how to process the feelings they are having. Whatever the reason it’s always personal and unique to that person.
I feel like life has been demanding a little more of me lately than I have the energy for. As a result, I haven’t been drawing much lately which always makes me feel off as well. I’m sure those of you who are also creative can relate.
Three years worth of @artsnacks challenges all in one video! I can’t say enough about the experience I had trying new products every month and challenging myself to try different colour combinations I would have not normally tried.
Today’s Travel Thru Art piece sticks a little closer to my home province of Alberta, Canada!
